Il Campanile, is an ancient abode built in the early 800s. Its owner renewed the place making sure to keep the original shape and style, resorting to refined materials and relying on skilled artisans who artfully work cocciopesto, dry stone and fine carparo floors, vaults and walls.

The property is located in the historic centre of Gagliano del Capo, a charming hamlet 4 kilometres from the famous Santa Maria di Leuca and only 10 minutes in walking distance from the equally renowned Ciolo bridge. From the road, you can access a small entrance through an old wooden gate, framed by a stone arched portal. The first floor, consisting of a dining room with a masonry kitchenette, a bedroom and a bathroom, is reachable through stairway characterised by stone steps worn out by time.

On the inside, the atmosphere is evocative and recalls old times with its star vaults, the old stone fireplace, pieces of original plaster left uncovered on the walls as frescos and the furniture that reflects the traditional local style. However, this appeal to tradition has not excluded the use of modern technology to provide the property with all the comforts.

Continuing up the stairway you can reach the furnished terrace overlooking the town square and from where you can admire the sea on clear summer days.
